Hi everyone,
I'm Diana and this will be my first attempt at creating a blog about cosmetics and makeup application. I would like to use this blog to share my own experiences with makeup products and some of the help application techniques I have encountered online and at my current job in sales of cosmetics and skincare. I would also like to make this site a place where anyone can share their experience, contribute and share their techniques. I will first start the blog by asking you, What makeup brands do you use? Do you notice a difference among the different brands? How do you apply your makeup (fingers, sponges, brushes)? I have listed some of the brands I currently use below. What are some questions about makeup or applications you have? I will try my best to answer each one.
The makeup brands that I use are Loreal and Clinique. It's hard to say the differences between these two because I use different products from the brands. I usually like to keep it simple by applying bb cream with my fingers and eyeliner. Do you happen to know a good brand for mascara?
ReplyDeleteHi Eun,
DeleteWhat kind of look are you looking to get, natural or dramatic? I like the more dramatic look. I love Lancome's Hypnose Drama mascara. I find that it gives my eyelashes length and volume. While Lamcome's mascara is great it can be a bit costly (28$). I have also found Maybelline's XXL Volume mascara to be a good alternative (7.99$). For a more natural look, I would suggest Origin's Ginzing mascara (17.50$). I have also read that Covergirl's Exact Eyelights Mascara(9$) is good for a natural look.
I created a similar blog! I have become a make up junkie in the past few months. All I do is look up make up tutorials online. I'm still trying to perfect eyeshadow application. Do you have any tips for creating a perfect "outer v?"

I like to use maybelleine for mascara and eyeshadow, and I use urban decay for eyeliner usually. What is the best mascara you think that lengthens AND creates volume? My lashes really need both, mostly the length. I use "falsies" by maybelleine and it works pretty well. But i'm wondering if you know of something that works better? And I usually use brushes to apply my make up
ReplyDeleteHi, Diana,
ReplyDeleteI use a combo of cheaper makeups from stores like Harmons and Walgreens and more expensive foundation and coverup from Mac and Sephora. I'm honestly not the most-knowledgeable at makeup application, or even purchasing, but I would like to learn more! I apply my coverup with my finger and a foundation and bronzer with a brush when I get dressed up. Do you have any suggestions for good eye shadow for someone with a paler complexion?

Hi Diana -
ReplyDeleteI mostly use Laura Mercier for foundation. I really love LM's flawless face line and her oil-free moisturizer is a fave! For the rest of my makeup, I use mostly Bobbi Brown. I find that I prefer her very basic, neutral palettes. I'm an especially a big fan of her gel eyeliner. I tend to be pretty plain with my makeup choices and colors. I wouldn't mind learning how to do a smokey eye or something with a bit more color.
Hi Diana,
ReplyDeleteFor concealer and foundations I don't mind spending a lot of money so I tend to buy Mac products, Makeup Forever and Bare Minerals. For mascara and eyeliner I tend to use drugstore products and I love the "Falsies' mascara. I tend to use my fingers for concealer which works great for me but I have heard there are great brushes for that. I haven't got too into eyeshadows and blending, hopefully your blog can help me with some ideas!
